SG50 Jubilee Weekend!

SG50 Jubilee Weekend came and went by in a flash! It marks our nation's 50th birthday and we rejoice in the long awaited 4 days break! It was definitely very therapeutic to have that longgg weekend and even though we were in Sg, we were equally happy to bask in the SG50 mood!

So on Friday, we wanted to go to Marina Barrage to catch the Black Knights performance when it started pouring when we were walking to the barrage, and both of us did not bring umbrella, so we got stranded and had to run back and seek shelter at the bus stop which was super crowded with fellow singaporeans who got stranded in the rain as well. Haha. After waited for what felt like forever when it could be approx 30 minutes, the rain finally subsided and we brisk walked to MBS!

So we thought okay fine, maybe we can head to the Art Science Museum to catch the LKY exhibition but bad decision, the queue extended all the way to the other end of MBS which needs a freaking 4 hours to get to the museum. So we gave up the idea and decided to go for lunch at Cityhall lol.

Photo taken outside MBS when we were too boliao, half hoping that the Black Knights will put up their aerial display despite the rain.

We decided to get tickets for Fantastic 4 after lunch, which to be honest isn't fantastic. The boy felt that the original film which starred Jessica Alba and Chris Evans is way better!

Anyhow we kickstart SG50 dinner with some Dak Galbi at Yoogane! I still find myself going back to them whenever I have the cravings! Where do I find other dak galbi restaurants in Sg?

SO YUMS.

My eye candy hehe *.*

And insert cui face >.< Face has been super pimply and cui lately, especially at the chin area! I wonder if its due to my evening runs that's contributing to it :( Just hope it subsides and the scars fasterly fade too..

Then came Day 2 of Jubilee Weekend where we had our lunch at Kim Gary. Its been a really long while since we revisit the restaurant, I remember we used to hangout here in our earlier dating days when we were still schooling. Ah how fast time passes!

I look damnn awkward here I think I just want my lunch haha. It's super yummy I finished all of it! Twin sauce (Cream & Tomato) with 3 types of meat (Pork, Chicken & Fish).

Haha damn act this one.

Headed to Sentosa after lunch! Especially for this! Cause it was the free entrance day to the Merlion! Since we haven been up there before, we took the chance to queue for it!

Super exposed but I quite like this photo!

Queue was manageable at about 1.5hrs in comparison to 4hrs lol.

Weather was crazy hot that we indulged in some childhood ice cream! Thank god for shelter too!

And finally.

Along the sides of the tunnel speaks about the background and history of Merlion, we watched a short 5 minutes clip as well before we had the chance to go up to the gallery.

The view standing from the top of the Merlion! That's the USS Battlestar ride just across!

It wasn't particularly impressive but hey it's still our nation's icon! And it was super breezy up there as well hehe.

So finally on our 50th National Day, we decided to try our luck and head to the barrage again to catch the Black Knights since it's their last day of performance! It starts at 12pm sharp but we were nowhere near the barrage so we just stand around and look up to the sky when it started. View was slightly obstructed by trees and stuff but we still managed to catch most of the stunts and was thoroughly awed and impressed throughout the 30 minutes performance.

Went in to the barrage after the performance since they have a mini carnival there, but we din really explore the carnival as there were crazy amount of people!

Cui is the word.

Saw them handing out posters so of course we had to get them hehe.

Someone sweatinggg soo sexily lol.

Both of us left the barrage badly burnt with horrible tan lines that day cause the sun was so scorching hot!

What a nice view from the field, I bet those people were camping for the spot to catch the NDP firework display.

Headed home thereafter for me to take a short rest and prep to attend Jas wedding banquet! Many many hugs to the boy for sending me there! Oops this photo is sooo blurr :x

#OOTN

How I wish its pillarless so we can take a better look at the stage..

Glimpse of the couple.!

And my favourite dish that night goes to the Salted Egg Yolk prawn ball.

Some photos for keepsake hehe.

Ping Yians!

And with my BFF for life :D

Last day of the Jubilee weekend was spent being a couch potato at home so I really felt thoroughly rested! Really appreciates the government for giving us citizens another day of leave :)
