The Happiest News for today is...

It's Vesak Day today! Just reached home from the buddhist temple. The weather is so mega hot that I kept sweating!! The sun really no mercy!

But I'm feeling relaxed now while waiting for the boy to drop by and pass me some stuffs hehe.

The happiest news for today is....

"I won 2 tickets to the NDP preview which will be held at the Floating Platform!!! :D "

Feeling extremely elated at the moment! I wasn't expecting myself to win a pair of tickets again because I won it 2 years back during the 2013 NDP. So I merely balloted with the intention of just trying my luck since it's SG50 this year! And who knows omg!

I balloted for the preview show since I have to attend a fren's wedding on National Day itself, but I believing attending the preview is as good as seeing how everything is gonna unfold on the actual day :)

I left it up to fate to decide whether we will be seated at the Padang or Floating Platform since there will be performances at this 2 locations this year. Although part of me secretly wish I will get the tickets to Padang but it's okay, floating platform also nubbad! :D

I think all my luck accumulated over the years really helps a lot in balloting for big items such as the NDP tickets or our BTO flat because those were first attempts!

I am not an extremely lucky person. All my life until now, I have only won once in a lucky draw during a xmas party held by the branch 3-4 yrs back. And it was 2nd prize if I'm not wrong - a hairdryer. Haha. Occasionally, I bet on TOTO or 4d when there's a million dollar winning but I have never got it too. It's always a donation to Singapore Pools haha.

So I guess all my luck is really transferred to all this big big items in my life! Which I am ever grateful for hehe.

If that's the case, then I hope everything stays this way. I dont have the habit of betting anyway haha. And I guess I would need all of such luck in future (e.g. getting a slot for my preferred wedding date etc) :D

Happy 48th Birthday,Singapore!! :D

The 9th of August every year marks a very significant day for all Singaporeans as it is the nation's birthday and a Public Holiday! This year was even more awesome as it comes together with Hari Raya following close behind and all of us had a super long weekend woohoo!

This year was especially special for us cause we got tickets to the NDP Actual Day Show!! It was our first time attending NDP together as a couple :D

I still remember how Dearie randomly tell me to ballot for this year's NDP tickets when he was in Beijing cause it's been really long since the last time he attended the NDP, I think it was during Primary 5. And I thought why not, so I balloted using his name and my name and I cannot believe they drew mine! :D And I'm so so glad that I indicated the Actual day show instead of the preview cause the atmosphere is totally different!

Reached Promenade station and we were queuing near the entrance at about 4+pm in the afternoon. The sun was scorching hot! And we tried to divert our focus by taking lots of photos before we perspire like crazy!

Totally dressing up to the day and theme! This is the only day where we don't mind wearing similar colour outfits cause we are not fans of wearing couple wear! I will always say he copy me whenever he appear in the same colour top as me LOL.

Woohoo! Moving on to collect our goodie bag which I forgot to take a picture of! But I think its really cool cause it can be a sling bag as well as a backpack!

Got seated and we had more camwhoring before the hosts went on stage!

Rack through the goodie bags and found props to beautify our photo! Cap, flag and a fan! Haha!

Okay a super narcissistic photo of me Heh.

And the show started!

Because the sky was so gloomy, it was rather sad and disappointing that they cancelled the Red Lions segment. No parachute!

Some highlights were the major Singapore Flag flying past when we were singing the National Anthem. The feeling was beyond amazing, it is that glorious moment that reminds me of how proud I am to be a Singaporean and living in such a safe and pretty country :) Feeling totally patriotic heh.

I like the marching in of the parade contigents too! Always looking forward to this part :D

Welcoming the President

We totally immersed ourselves in the show then. Hence not much photos were taken using my phone except the fireworks. Heh. Nothing beats watching fireworks from such an upclose distance. :D

Happy Birthday once again to my country, my homeland! :D

And I hope you are super happy that we managed to watch the NDP together this year Dearie! ;)

All random-ness in one post. ^^

Ok so let's backtrack to our nation's birthday! Hehe!
A sea of red at marina floating platform! Whoots!

It's the day where I love my home country alot. ^^

Contigents waiting for cue to march in!

The moment which everyone was looking forward to! FIREWORKS!!! It's so so different seeing it in real life than in the telly!

LOVE THIS! Makes me feel so proud being a Singaporean. :)

Walked over to Gardens by the Bay next as we were nearby. Pardon the super grainy photos cos they were all taken by my antique Sony camera which became sot sot after using for bout 3 years?

Paparazzi shot. Haha!

Entering into Gardens by the Bay!

We are supposed to act serious la. But I totally failed at that. Burst out laughing out loud once the camera snapped. Haha!

Resting our feet. Hee!

So pretty!

Super tree!

So pretty when it lights up. We were there too late thus din get the chance to go into the conservatories. But I did after my 2nd trip there with the colleagues! More about that in the next few entries!

Beware, touristy shots ahead. ;)

Okay la. After this outing we totally cannot take it that we bought a new camera soon after. LOL! Cui photos man. Want to develop also hard. >.<

Back to recent weeks!

Finally got a chance to go do our hair together with dearest hammie! Not like it's some ex salon but the service was not bad too. ;)

Complimentary drink ^^

No before shots so here's the after. I merely did their Redken 3 step treatment so nothing much there but hammie dyed her hair! Wonder if it's even obvious in the photos. Haha!

Dinner-ed at Ding Tai Fung!

XLBs me LOVE! My colleague told me that all the goodness in the xlbs are fats! They were stuffed in and will eventually melt under the hot temperature, turning into something like chicken stock but so much more sinful! And the calories for one xlb is as good as one chicken wing. T_T So each of us had 5 chicken wings that night. LOL!

Picas while walking to the train station!

And I brought Dearie to this ramen place at Parco Marina Bay 2 weeks back! This guy actually know about this place but donno why he din even tell me! >.<

His!

And his all time favourite garlic press. LOL! He totally smell like a walking garlic after eating this bowl. Imagine the amount of garlic he put!!!!

And mine. The only decent photo the man took. ><

So not appealing it's like drinking black oil. But it taste not bad! Kinda salty though, I guess all Japanese ramen tend to be slightly saltier than the rest around. Hehe!

On another separate day, we chanced upon this eatery at Far East Plaza! The Amazing Thai food, serves really authentic thai food at really reasonable prices! Big serving portion too!

Wanted to get this belt for Chen Long but it's the last piece and there were scratches on the metal plate so we gave it a miss. Thank god we managed to find another suitable one at Calvin Klein Jeans!

After getting it, it was HTHT at Starbucks! Raspberry Frap and Mushroom quiche! Yums!

Love spending lazy Fridays with you. :D

My arms and legs are starting to ache due to the 1.5hr of gym earlier on with the colleagues! Despite the ache, I feel so energized and refreshed! Let's hope we can continue with this and not 三分钟热度. Hah!
