Beijing Day 2! :D // Part II - 北京大董烤鸭店 //

It took us about 2.5hr of super bumpy and jerky journey from the Great Wall before we finally arrived at 大董烤鸭店! There was a massive jam throughout and we were already getting restless by then, feels like our bones were breaking apart in the relatively cramped minivan. :/

Nonetheless, here we are! Heard it's better than 全聚德!!

The pristine setting.

Condiments given to go along with our 烤鸭!

And. Hold and behold...

...

Look at this! It's glistening and looks so damn yummy! And it really is!!!! The crisp skin totally melts in your mouth and the meat was so tender and juicy!!

There were 8 of us so 2 shared to a plate each. Oh. we had 2 ducks by the way. Heh.

Another photo of the infamous dish in beijing that looks so salivatingly good!

Okay, here's how the locals eat their duck.

Put some sweet sauce (as much as you want), lay the meat, then continue to put the shredded cucumbers, beetroot, onions accordingly to your preference. Thereafter, just throw in a dash of sugar and some garlic. Wrap it up and there you have it! Your own duck wrap. Heh.

They have another kind of crisp bun which was hollow in the middle, and you can do the same thing and it will taste as good! Sorry no photos of the bun! :/ You can do korean style and use the lettuce too! :D

The duck bones were not wasted and they used it to cook up this really yummy duck broth! Light, tasty and refreshing!

Complimentary strawbies!! Displayed so nicely with dry ice somemore. Jaw drop for all of us from the table. They were so big and sweet too!! I love it! Coming from someone who don't eat Sg strawbies, you could have guess how sweet it is. :)

That sorta tea break cum reward from the Great Wall caused us about $10 odd, I would say it's pretty worth it judging on the great duck! And not to say, it can get extremely filling!!

**

Then, we walked to Saliturn! It's a shopping mall but I did not shop much though. It's too big and too confusing. :/

Eat again at a foodcourt located at the top level of a mall near Saliturn. It basically sells fakes. Fakes that look authentic, but doesn't feel quite like it. Heh. Saw Dearie's friends haggling and it can be quite a sight when you see the store owners getting more and more irritated by the minute. ;)

Local 饺子!I had 4 and feel like puking. Too full!! But it taste good even though it doesnt look appealing here cause it's really fresh! They only start wrapping it after you order!

At night, eat again....

Random hot dog bun that taste quite normal, meh!

Hi, we are just chilling in the cold night. :)
