Melbourne, Australia Day 2 (Great Ocean Road) // Gibson Steps, Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, London Arch, The Grotto //

I cannot believe I'm here documenting another entry so soon after the last, I guess I'm just too excited and wants to put it all up here asap so I can reminisce the memories all over again!

This was what greeted me when I opened the apartment's door the next morning. A double rainbow! It's my first time seeing it!! I immediately screamed for the boy's attention and just gawked at it for a few moments before realising I should take a photo. Too bad the rainbows had almost faded by then. But it was truly a sight in reality! I swear my favourite colour turned from pink to rainbow in that instant haha.

Anyway we marched out for breakfast at a mini cafe recommended by Trip Advisor. That's the name of the cafe below haha.

Breakfast was good, but would be better if their bacon wasn't so burnt. I guess Australians love their food slightly burnt. It's either the toast or the meat most of the time haha.

See! So burnt how to eat :/

We hit on the road once again to Port Campbell for the infamous Twelve Apostles! This is sort of the major highlight of the Great Ocean Road trip. It was still drizzling by then but we were hoping for clearer skies.

Our first stop - Gibson Steps

We were able to see 1-2 limestone stacks of the Twelve Apostles from the viewing deck at this view.

And we saw another rainbow again! 3 rainbows in a day omg we feel so blessed and lucky!! Is our pot of gold at Great Ocean Road?

Trying to sneak a few photos with the crazy wind and tiny raindrops slapping on our faces hah.

And after 5 minutes of drive, we reached Twelve Apostles!

Twelve Apostles

It was super magnificent in its grandeur when we were there, seriously breathtaking and beautiful beyond words! I believe no photos will ever be enough to do it justice. I'm so so glad I decided to take this trip with Dearie there and then man.

The weather was kinda gloomy that day, and although it did dampen our spirits a tiny bit but it was not for long, we still took alot of photos haha.

Fun fact:  The Twelve Apostles only ever has nine stacks, not twelve. But one of the stacks was eroded and collapsed in 2005, so there's only 8 now.

Note to self: Always bring hair-tie haha. My hair was all over my face due to the strong wind that day.

That it makes me so hard to take a proper photo lol. I think this was after 127458269 shots hahha.

No choice but to put my hoodie lol.

Well, not long after we took those photos, there was a crazy downpour and we had to run all the way back to our car, which really seem like miles away on that day. We will practically soaked from head to toes when we reached our car!

Thank god for the heater, we warmed up abit and gobbled up a crazy good scallop pie with four gigantic scallops inside while waiting for the rain to subside.

The rain was still crazy heavy when we reach our subsequent stops but we braced the strong wind with our foldable umbrella and got out of the car just to see Loch Ard Gorge, and quickly took a snap of it. The beach was closed due to the weather hence this was our only shot.

I remember Dearie was using the umbrella to shield me while I snapped a shot with one hand, another hand holding onto the shade of the brolly to prevent it from upsetting haha. Damn YOLO max but I know this is something we will talk and laugh about in future lol.

Loch Ard Gorge

Some random formation which we mistook for the grotto. Blame the GPS!

London Arch
(formerly London Bridge) - the span closer to the shoreline collapsed on 1990

The steps to The Grotto

The Grotto
It is a sinkhole caused by geological formation and provides visibility of the sea beyond the pool at low tide.

It's a pity the area was muddy so we could not go over to get a closer look. And spot mysterious photographer. He was at the same spot for damn long!

Dragging my tired soul and feet after the rain.

After checking off our to go/see list, we zoom back to Melbourne City. Stopped by macs for a quick lunch  along the way.

The weather turned for the better when we were on our way back. Blue sky, why you go MIA when we were visiting those famous spots? And this was not the only time it happened..

Missing this view..~

It took us approx 3hrs drive to travel from Port Campbell to Melbourne City. I did slept a little on and off during the journey so kudos to the boy for staying awake throughout and getting us safely to the city!

Parked our car and checked in to our stay for the next 4 nights. We booked it with Mercure Melbourne Treasury Gardens which was located within CBD and it basically puts us in the centre of everywhere which was good. Room was cosy but that's perfectly fine with us. The wifi sucks though :x

A tiny kitchenette which was wasted

Headed out to dinner at Miss Katie's Crab Shack thereafter!

The place was quite hard to find as it was located in a bar.

Oysters going at $1 each!

Drove over to a few streets for Messina Gelato after dinner. This recommendation pops up everywhere online so we were glad we went. Their gelato is seriously creamy and smooth I'm so glad we had one each and regret not going back for more cause it was kinda out of our way. (spot me and my weird pose haha)

Nope not sharing!

And we spent the night shopping at Woolworths- their local supermarket. I have found a new love shopping at overseas supermarkets! Lol.

Being overseas doesnt mean not working out. Clap clap for determination. I was just nua-ing beside him lol.
