Day 2 of Bali was a really long day so I will be breaking it into 3 parts to prevent the post from being way too long. Hehe.
Day 2 #coupleootd! Hehe. In green! :D
Headed to breakfast buffet at 7am in the morning!
Aiyo my favourite cereal. I had a bowl everyday wahaha! Super love cereals leh!
Bacons too!
OM NOM NOM.
Morning selfie with swollen faces hehe
Group shot at resort's reception area! All in green coincidentally wahaha! #50shadesofgreen lol.
We engaged a driver/tour guide to bring us around several places in Bali during the one day tour! It was 50USD for a 10hrs tour, which was approximately $15 each which we thought was fairly reasonable!
Our first stop was a really cultural stop: The Barong & Kris Dance
Flowers on the hair for the ladies. Haha.
Got seated and it begin shortly. The performance was an hour and it basically tells the story between the evil spirit and the good spirit.
Short explaination. Took us abit of trouble to understand the story fully :(
Photos after the performance!
Then they brought us to Ubud Art Village where it is all things arty - like this batik store, actually they wanted to bring us to 4 different kinds of stores - Batik, Wood sclptures, Jewellery, and the last stop which I cant remember (I guessed cause they earn commission). But it was seriously quite boring so we eliminated into 2 stops instead.
At the 2nd stop, which was rather interesting cause they carve and create the wood sculptures manually!
I think we only stayed for like 30 minutes in total for these 2 places before we went for lunch! We should just skipped them like totally!
Went to the famous Babi Guling Ibu Oka for their mixed suckling pork rice!
Lol caption plse.
There's basically pork blood, suckling pork skin, pork meat, mashed vegetables, fried pork meat. It's not too bad but I feel it was quite oily and the meat were too salty for our tastebuds. Guessed that's how they like their meat to be! But well, good to try local food in a foreign country! :D
Half shag face :X
After lunch, we headed to Tirta Empul Temple which is a Hindu temple btw! Wanted to go to the other temple but they brought us here instead. It's okay because this temple also considered as a tourist attraction. Heh.
The weather was so very HOT so my $14 cotton on shades was put to good use. Wahaha did pretty well defending the rays! No need to spend money on raybans yea!
No exposed skin allowed so we need to rent a sarong to show respect for the temple and the gods! Rental is FOC!
#balicoupleootd. Hehe.
At the main entrance of the temple!
See the pool behind us. It is the purifying pool. And devotees has to make their way from the most left of the water outlet to the last. The guide also told us that if you repeat your wishes each time you cleanse yourself with the holy water, your wishes will come true :D I think there's about 14 holy water outlets if I'm not wrong!
Discovered this tame dog seeking shelter in the temple grounds!
After which, we were led to this mini market where we did not buy anything except for 2 fridge magnets. Hehe. Another addition to our collection :D Shall take a photo of all the magnets collected when we move in to our new house 4 years later hehe!
And that concludes part 1 of Day 2 whee! Oh man 1 part only and I'm tired. :X
