Birthday with the girlfriends ♥

I thought I should start blogging about my birthday celebrations bit by bit since I'm at home today! Dearie is having his mid term exam period and he has 2 papers followed by a friend's birthday party today, hence I was lazing around in bed, surfing the net and candy crush-ing the whole day. I'm certainly not complaining though cause I find it quite therapeutic since such days doesnt come by often. Heh.

Okay backtracking to my birthday eve, I was kinda surprised that we are able to set on a date to have an advanced birthday celebration this year, when we always had belated celebrations for the past years lol.

I suggested dinner at Au Chocolat bistro located at MBS since I have always wanted to try the food so there we were!

Some of the food we ordered that night, which comes with a massive price tag, or so I thought. Most of the orders are chef's recommendation that we thought could not possibly gone wrong but was a disappointment.

Truffle Fries (strips of crispy potatoes drizzled with fragrant white truffle oil & seasoned with
truffle sea salt, served with mayonnaise & BBQ sauce) - $15

Of course we had to have this! Almost every table has 1! And its in fact quite addictive!

Soup of the day (Clear chicken soup with flower clams) - $11

This was not to my liking :( Maybe cause I prefer creamy soup compared to clear soup.

Aglio Olio Vongole (white clams tossed in red chillies, fresh spring herbs & garlic with extra virgin
olive oil) - $24

I had this and they were really generous with the clams! The pasta however, was bland. :( And the clams had these sandy feel which I hateee. Major boo. I would rather have my favourite crabmeat linguine pasta at Marmalade's pantry over this. D:

Duck Confit (a popular classic with an Au Chocolat twist, pan-roasted duck thigh served with
potato mash, a white wine poached pear & topped off with a tangy chocolate
orange sauce) - $27

Jas had this and I feel the duck meat was a tad dry, but the potato mash is good!

Au Chocolat Mocha Pork Rib (perfectly roasted pork ribs marinated and coated with a sinful combination of dark chocolate and gourmet coffee sauce, served with sweet potato fries) - $35

Ting had this and it's the most expensive out of the orders we had! But we really gotta admit the ribs are very tender and yummy! I wish the fries were slightly hotter though.

Boeuf Bourguignon (tender beef cheek, bacon, carrots & mushrooms slow cooked in veal stock & red
wine, served with potato mash & brioche bread) - $26

Wei had this and it was very good from her review! She finished it even though she was late and had the food later than all of us. O.O It must be really good, and it's not even chef's recommendation. Not true to follow chef's receommendation all the time ey?

Banana Smoothie - $12

Wei had this and she did not even finish half of it. :( MEH

Camwhoring after savouring our food, not. Heh.

And the only polariod which was badly taken. :/

A better one here :D

Although the food were not all pleasant and fulfilling, but the company definitely makes up for it. We had lots of fun catching up and all of us thinks we should have more of such dinner gatherings in future! I hope we can keep up! :D

Oh, Jas also surprised me with a mini gift as well! Hahs! A top and dress and some sticky sweet love! :))

So sorry babes for suggesting the place cause it's really only so-so. Total bill amounts to $190 which is so not worth it I feel. Not going back anytime soon I guess. :(

Anyhow, Im done with my entry and off I go to put on my mask! Pampering time! :D
