Learning Journey - Palau Semakau & Changi Airport

Before I hit the bed, just want to clear my backlogs before it piles!

Learning Journey to Palau Semakau Landfill just weeks ago!

We basically learnt about how our country deals with the hundred tonnes of waste we produced every day. We settled for somewhere out of Singapore, which was at Palau Semakau!

They usually incinerate the waste to ashes before transporting them to Semakau island, and then depositing it into the sea, where it will be transformed into a landfill when it is filled up. Quite smart of the government. Hehe. Of course they are working towards high recycling rate so we need not keep doing this. Cause the seabed will eventually be filled up no?

Some photos when we were touring the site. Okay actually only 2. It was so windy and the skies so blue that we don't see why we should not take photos. HAHA.

Feels like we are away on a beach holiday! Like in Bali or something heh

Another LJ to Changi Airport a week later.

I have always wanted to go Changi Airport for Learning Journey! I thought it will let us in on some of the great decison making and planning which made our airport like how it is now. World class standard.

Really excited I had to take a photo, even though it's just visitor pass. LOL.

The kinetic rain. I really wonder how that woman climb over the railings. Really thankful it got fixed so we are able to see its beautiful structure and rhythm.

Trojan Horse

Social Tree (where we take photos on the photo stations, decorate it, and share it up on the tree!)

Butterfly garden (in the airport! how many of us know this?)

They even have recreational facilities like movie theatre and swimming pool! I did not even know all about this before!

So proud of our country's airline :D

Sponge bob blow up!

No we did not win the plushie, Grace bought it after spending a certain amount in the airport. Hah.

Our last station! I never knew it's open to adults as well. Four storey high and it's kinda fun! But of course we can only redeem a free ride if we spend $10 in a single receipt.

Even though it turns out to be a guided tour of all the 3 terminals, it definitely opened our eyes to all the concepts and rationales that the government had when constructing the airport, to make it an international/recreational/entertainment hub. I am totally impressed, and definitely looking forward with the few major big plans coming along for our airport!

I am soo super proud of our airport! :D

Night!
