Breakfast was at Victoria Cafe just across the street from our hotel!
My croissant with smoked salmon in between
Dearie's scrambled eggs. He went on a quest to find the best scrambled eggs in Aussie as he practically order it at every chance he got lol
Buckled up and we set off to Puffing Billy for the morning! Chanced upon University of Melbourne on our way
Driver throughout the 4 days in Melbourne. Tough on you B but thanks for the rides haha :)
And we reached our destination after a 45 mins drive!
We had to go down quite a few loops to reach the train station
Boomerangs are selling everywhere in Aussie. It is a tool used by indigenous Australians for hunting, and it often comes with different Australian Aboriginal Art on it too.
We depart from Belgrave to Lakeside station, and it takes approx an hour to travel from one end to the other end.
At their train station. How vintage looking!
That's the locomotive steam train also known as Puffing Billy!
The train is not due to depart yet so we made use of the photo opportunities!
That's how we sit when the train moves yo, not on the cushion seats but with legs hanging out like this haha.
And off we go! This steep turn was quite thrilling!
All was good apart from the occasional wind messing our hair, tiny particles entering our eyes and holding to our phones and camera for dear life haha. But life should be this spontaneous and adventurous. YOLO hehe.
There was a short break at Menzies Creek station so we took more photos haha.
The boy went off taking selfies of himself after taking this shot for me lol.
And we go again~
At Lakeside after an hr. We are definitely not missing the opportunity to have our photos taken at the head of the choo choo train!
Our best shot lol. It was too crowded to have a proper photo..
Lunch at a tiny cafe at there. A mix of pie, fish and chips and soup!
We went off exploring thereafter.
The maple tree looking super pitiful but I still want a photo haha.
Wanted to visit the museum but we realised that we need to pay to enter so we took a detour as we just wanted a quick look, do not want to miss the train back!
Left Puffing Billy and walked in to a random cafe for some churros!
With dark chocolate dip accompanying us along the drive back. Yums!
Headed back to our hotel to rest our legs and I changed to a thicker coat fearing that night will be colder as we will be doing a lot of walking
Streets of Melbourne CBD
Rode on the free tram to Flinders Street Station. There's free tram zone around Melbourne CBD so it brought us around without us forking out a cent! There really is free ride in the world!!
And this is one of the must see in Melbourne - Flinders Street Station
It is not your normal train station yo. Looking very grand there :)
How majestic! This is one of Melbourne's icons and I would think it makes a really looking meeting point.
St Paul's Cathedral which was just across from Flinders Street Station
Federation Square which was a short walk away. It is a huge space for people to hang around. A really chill space in fact haha.
Walked to Hosier Lane for those street graffiti walls next! And this shows how posey shoots is not for me? How to maintain my expression?! Just totally cant actyige. Epic fail lol. Wedding photoshoot jialat liao.
Someone looks like a natural haha.
Another view of the awesome train station against the sunset background
Chin Chin for dinner! Thank god we were lucky so we got our seats immediately. There was a really looongg queue by the time we ended our meal.
It's well known for its thai fusion dishes so we were really excited albeit being slightly pricey.
Pad Thai
Caramelised sticky pork with sour herb salad and chilli vinegar. This is nice!
After mixing it up haha
Butter chicken curry with yoghurt and green chilli
This was one of the better meals we had during the trip. Plse pardon awkward smile, messy hair and tired looking face meh. haha.
Dearie suggested visiting Eureka Skydeck 88. It was totally impromptu but quite worth it in my opinion. Adult tickets cost AUD$20 each!
Such gorgeous view of Melbourne at night. And it stretches sooo far beyond.
We spent awhile up there just soaking in the night views and just gushing at its beauty haha. Really no regrets going up! I even bought a really pretty snow globe for AUD$17 but it was confiscated at the airport immigration! Super sad la but that's story for another day..
Strolling back to our hotel and enjoying the cool breeze.
Chance upon their local H&M building! Why so nice one!
And I'm 2 more days away from completing Melbourne travelogues!
