Chef At Work; Pink Sauce Pasta with Sliced Chicken & Sausage

Yesterday was another cookout Saturday! Rather impromptu again cause we were too sick of shopping and roaming around in town. So when the boy say "lets cook!" I'm all in. So grocery shopping begins!

Im not chef of the day la as usual Dearie does the most job. Heh. I really got 呼来唤去 by the boy. He really thought he's Chef Ng.. Heh!

Anyway here goes!

Ingredients used: (Serving size: 3-4pax)
- 1/2 pack of pasta
- 1 can of marinara sauce
- 1/2 can of thick cream
- 1 pack of chicken sausages (which I only used 2 sticks and got scolded by the boy lol)
- chicken breast
- grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- salt
- pepper
- sugar

Preparation time: 15 mins
Cooking time: 30 mins

Instructions:
1. Cook pasta accordingly to package directions. Drain, reserving 1 cup of pasta water. We cook ours for 6 mins for the pasta to be al dente!
2. Heat butter and oil over medium heat.
3. Add garlic and saute for a minute.
4. Add sliced chicken and sausages and let it cook.
5. Pour in marinara sauce and add salt, pepper, and sugar to taste.
6. Stir and cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7. Add in thick cream and continue stirring. Thin with pasta water if needed.
8. Add grated parmesan cheese, to taste.
9. Add sauce over pasta and serve.

Pardon the lack of behind the scene photos cause our hands were too busy by then! Trying to cook and wash at the same time!

So here's the end product! Majorly pleased with ourselves hehe! :D

My share with more sauce plse!! Yum yum!!

Our main intention was to create pink sauce pasta, with a combination of cream & tomato sauce. But I guess we did not really achieve it cause we put too little cream (fat content very high you see!). So it still taste somewhat like tomato sauce? But at least it's abit creamy and less icky! Not a fan of tomato based pasta hehe.

Nonetheless! Cookout session success! Next time 再接再厉!
