The thing about Life

Just had a really long heart to heart talk with beloved Hammie, and one topic we touched on was life, in general.

She threw me a question which totally caught me off guard. "你的人生目标是什么?"
Frankly speaking, I never have a long term goal in life. I used to have, that I be married by 26, have kids by 28. But here I am at 25+, still not engaged nor planning for my wedding lol. And I doubt I want to have kids by 28 lol.

So I have concluded that plans change, all the time. No matter how much you plan, something is gonna come out and change your plans all of a sudden, be it for the good or bad. You just can't seem to plan everything, especially when it comes to life. There is no format or structure. You just live the kind of life through the choices you made.

For me, I strongly believe life is more than just making big bucks. I mean, of course it is good if you are bringing home that kind of money, but it shouldn't be at the expense of the quality time you can use it to spend with your loved ones, friends, or even yourself.

I am not a workaholic and neither am I ambitious. I truly believe in work life balance. What is the point of living and making lots of money but you might not have the time or energy to spend and reward yourself for all the money you are making? And probably losing your health and time in the midst of chasing wealth?

How much money do we have to earn to ensure that it's enough? Let's face it. Money can never be enough unless you are satisfied and comfortable with your standard of living. And humans being humans, we can never feel contented. So yea, you want more so you work doubly hard for it. That is absolutely true. But to be overly obsessed in working hard for your whole life, to realise that it all comes to an end with nothing achieved except for that amount in your bank account which you might never get the chance to spend it, is a matter to ponder.

"We only live once, so live it well. Because if you live it well, once is enough."

So I can say that my own personal goal is to be happy and to try to live life with no regrets cause it is not always about the money.

It's to have fun,
To laugh about things,
To engage in relationships,
To enrich self,
To do good

"Because at the end of the day, when we are at our finishing line, we want to feel that we have did all we wanted, and wanted to be."

So let's all jiayou and live life OUR WAY! :D Nobody can judge and criticise about your life, because its yours and you choose how you want to live it ;)

*Special thanks to dearest Hammie for striking a chord in me to blog about my perspective about life. :D
